Departing from Queenstown, let our specialist Wine Guides take you off the beaten track into the heart of Central Otago; a wine region famous for its boutique vineyards, dramatic scenery and fascinating pioneering history.
Enjoy tastings from up to three contrasting wine sub-regions; the Gibbston Valley and the lesser known Bannockburn and Cromwell basin. Sit back and relax in our luxury minivans, and take in the sights while our wine guide provides a full commentary on the area.
Daily all-inclusive, small-group and private tours available, with vineyard visits changing every day. Vineyard requests can be included when notified in advance.

Appellation Wine Tours was founded by Philip Green and Wendy Johnston in 1999; two New Zealanders with a passion for Central Otago and its wines, and a desire to share that enthusiasm with others.
Appellation’s mission remains to take people far from Queenstown’s adrenalin attractions to the quieter parts of the region. There we can immerse our guests in the culture of fine wine, gorgeous food and stunning alpine scenery, a side of Queenstown that people often miss on a short visit.
In 2005 the company undertook an extensive brand review and changed the trading name to Appellation Wine Tours, reflecting the development and recognition of the Central Otago wine region and the growing popularity of their Queenstown-based wine tours.
With tours departing from Queenstown, Appellation offers a range of all-inclusive small-group, daily, private and custom wine tours and have a range of tour options to fit with different itineraries combining perfectly with other popular Queenstown activities.
Appellation offers three daily wine tour departures and one daily sightseeing tour, each with varying departure times and inclusions.
They have a range of modern fleet including luxury Mercedes-Benz and All-Electric minivans as well as smaller private touring vehicles. Most daily tours run with maximum of 12 guests ensuring interactive and personalised tours.
Their passionate guides are incredibly knowledgeable and your clients, whether novice or seasoned aficionados, can expect to be educated, entertained and inspired.
Lastly Appellation have built up very strong relationships with vineyards over the years and as such have access to some extra special bespoke experiences too.

We have a cancellation policy of 48 hours where anything cancelled inside of 48 hours of the tour departure time is non-refundable.
